I'm trying to get info on the book its self.I,ve found many different cover disigns. I have eaven found a image of one from the eighteenhundreds. They all have the same story, sometimes with two stories.I,m interested in finding background info.Like ,when was it printed, how many were printed, why it has no publishing date,is it a first edition.Info like that.Weather it is worthless or not, doesnt matter to much.Although,I would like to know is worth.I do believe it is relitively old.It is in very good condition, and the cover seems to be unusual.I would like to read the story, but not from this book.I dont want to change the condition it is now in.
Thankyou Merlin,I will check them out.

What do you want to know about it?

A Study in Scarlet is one of the novels about Sherlock Holmes, a famous detective in England.

I checked with Yahoo Yellow Pages, and also did a Google Search. Hurst and Company Publishers no longer seems to be in business. If there is a mailing address in the book, I would suggest mailing a letter to it, and see if some other company bought them out. Otherwise, it seems you have your hands on a rare, out-of-print book that probably doesn't have very much monetary value, since at it's core it is just another edition of a Sherlock Holmes novel.

Another option would be to contact a consignment auction house, like Christie's or Sotheby's, and talk to whomever there is responsible for rare books, to see if they have an idea what it is worth.
