Because WOMEN CAN MULTI TASK MEN CAN NOT. WE CAN CLEAN TALK ON THE PHONE AND PLAY ON THE COMPUTER ALL AT THE SAME TIME. I GUESS IT IS BECAUSE A WOMAN CAN DO IT RIGHT.

well....they have to do something usefull with their time when they're not in the kitchen or makin babies........hahahah.....no i'm just playing...bet there's about 100 women reading this, that would love to peal my skin off for that comment......it was just a joke......if you're in a relationship, everything should be 50/50......if both people are working, then they also should be doing equal shares of the household chores.....if fo some reason...on has a job , and one is currently unemployed, then i think it's only fair that that the unemployed person take on a little more of the household work than the person who has a job.....this goes for either men or women... partners should be pulling their weight. I know it would frustrate me if i was in a living relationship with someone who didn't work yet asked me to do an equal share of the chores even though i worked all day and she watched tv. i'm pretty sure my partner would be equally frustrated if i watched tv all day with no job and asked her to do an equal share of the work when she got home from a long day on the job.....it all comes down to fairness....as long as both people have an understanding to be fair and appreciative of eachother...then no one will feel like they are being used.

Men are reared to like all things dirty and women are brought up to be clean and neat. From my experience, if you let the man do the cleaning then its not going to really get cleaned (unless its the car) and I prefer to get it right the first time. I'm not saying this about all men. My dad taught me how to clean a house and if it wasn't done right the first time then he made us do it again. Some men just suck at housework.

Same reason that men kill bugs, terminate rodents, do construction, shovel snow, paint the outside of the house, build walls and fences, because that is what we are made to do.

This is not to say all women do not do these things, but the same goes for men not doing housework.

Well it started cause way back...in the day when you only needed a one person income to live...the husbands did the work to earn the money to supply the house...and the women stayed home and worked the house and took care of the kids...

As for why it works that way today...most families I know share the chores...if they both work...if one does and the other doesn't, usually the one staying home does the bulk of it...but I also know that this isn't the case for all families...good luck to ya...hope this helps:)

The "trend" started in the bible but it's a load of crap. Housework should be shared equally.

Well, back in the day that's what women did, they took care of the house, children and cooked for their family while the husbands worked, but it is the 20th century now and things need to change, but I have a husband that helps he does laundry, cleans the kitchen, the toilets and cooks and cleans up supper mess sometimes, he is one in a million.

i think it started wayyyyyy back in the day. man would go out and hunt and the women would take care of the kids etc. i think if the man and women both work then both should do house work. i remember my mom would drag me out the bed to help her do housework. anmd she didnt give a damn if i was a guy

Because women tend to nest and men tend to hunt. Also, woman are inherently neater and cleaner than men. So they feel a need to clean. Men just don't care about it that much.
