I am expecting my baby any day now and am panicking because we don't have a name selected. I love the name Morgan, but especially for a boy. Am I going to torture my child by giving him a name that is mainly used for girls nowadays?

Morgan

This girl's and boy's name is used in English. Its source is a Welsh expression meaning "Circling sea." However, not all experts agree. Learn about the disputed meaning.

Alternate spellings of the name Morgan include: Morgann, Mourghan. There are two other forms of Morgan. There are also teasing nicknames (see Drawbacks).

The name Morgan ranked 27th in popularity for females of all ages in a sample of 2000-2003 Social Security Administration statistics and 576th in popularity for females of all ages in a sample of the 1990 US Census.

Looked it up, I really think it's more for a girl myself. Good lucky

There are two girls in my step sons class named Morgan...but no boys. I had a friend that named their son Arin (as in the combination between Aaron and Erin). That poor boy got called a he/she and is picked on all the time. Arin is the nicest kid you could know. My step son's mom insisted on spelling Erik with a K and he always has to spell it for people. Names and spelling are very important.

If you like Morgan so much...make it his middle name.

My younger sister's best friend's name is Morgan and he is a great kid. I think Morgan is a strong name. I also love the actor Morgan Freeman and he seems to be a manly man.

I know a guy named Morgan & he doesn't get any crap for his name. I personally think the name is cuter for a girl, but I also like it for a boy. I think if that is the name you love & you & the father have agreed on it, go for it. Good luck & congrats.

Hello,

When I think of the name Morgan, I think of Morgan Fairchild. It is a beautiful name indeed. But it sounds better suited for a baby girl.

Although, theis is Morgan Freeman as well. You may be able to pull it off. How about Morgan Daniel...or Morgan Christopher...or Morgan Jordan....

Hope this helps you.........................:-)

It's your baby, so if you like the name Morgan, go for it! I like it, and I know a guy named Morgan. There are lots of names that are for either sex, so don't worry about it!

My name is Stacy, and I know guys named Stacy. Also, my youngest son's name is Toby. I was going to name the baby Toby whether it was a boy or girl, and to hell with anybody who didn't like it!

Personally I don't like either - for boy or a girl
but it is your choice at the end of the day.
I don't think there is going to be a problem
but I always think that it's best if a boy
has a good, strong, name.

eg Like Blake
- Samuel, Alexander,

Actually, I think Morgan would make a nicer
middle name. ie: Alexander MORGAN
of Samuel MORGAN

Best of luck... maybe wait until he arrives
and then you might make that decision.

Blessings : )

You have to think of the last name too. Hope your last name isn't Morgan. You also have to think of the initials. Morgan Andrew Douglas sounds fine, but the initials of MAD might be a problem. I kind of like a two syllable first with a one syllable last name. It seem more rhythmic.
