My son had a bad asthma attack and was put on prednisone. He finished his course of meds 5 days ago then 3 days later he has a skin rash form his head to his belly button. He has an appointment tomorrow at doc's, but has anyone else heard of prednisone causing a rash after use?

Prednisone should not cause a rash, however it does keep an episode of the hives at bay, when you stop taking the meds, the hives will reappear. He needs to take antihistamines with the prednisone to fight the allergic reaction that he is obviously having that triggered his asthma attack. Good luck at the docs. Also calamine lotion will help give him some comfort until tomorrow.

Good hygiene, eating healthy and low stress should keep acne away. Try some great OTC products like Niapads, Cetaphil etc. Remember, the most effective treatment is one that is simple to use. For eg. cut a piece of Niapads, moisten it with water and place it on the yet to come to surface acne. Active ingredients penetrate skin and get rid of acne bacteria. Routine use of Niapads helps exfoliate, open clogged skin pores and gets rid of acne in one simple step without drying your skin. Contains Lavender oil – well known moisturizer.

I had very reddened itchy skin on arms, shoulder, stomache while taking it on the third and fourth day, not day 1,2 or 5..not sure why. I put lotion on after the bath and it helped. I took it for asthma too.
