Thank you for your answers! I too believe personal experience is a plus, but fear that some of these pregnant women are not talking to their healthcare providers to get answers that are more specific to them and their medical history. Like my question says do you call your doctor/nurse BEFORE asking the question here. Hence, why in my "advice" I tell folks to call their doctor! Thanks!

I agree with the others, as far as if it is not serious. Most ladies on here asking questions about pregnancies, just want a little reassurance from people who have been where they are. So if you don't know the answer to the question, or you haven't been there. Don't tell these ladies to call a doctor. THEY KNOW!!!

I like to know what other people have experienced. I don't trust doctors at all, so if it's something serious, sure, I will ask, but if it's not an emergency, I like to gather the facts from people who have had EXPERIENCE. The doctor can tell you, but can't relate to you. Plus the doctor will say "Oh take this" and I hate medication of any kind.

Sometimes doctors don't know everything. Sometimes they don't know much at all. I've learned far more from other women about pregnancy and birth than most doctors know. Every once in a while I lurk over on OBGYN.net and am horrified at how ignorant doctors are about the female body. They know how to cut you open, but have no idea how to facilitate normal birth, or even when it looks like. It's crazy.

If u don't wanna be asked then don't answer the damn question. Its really not worth the 2 points. Plus some people who have been through it already can help the ones in need in some ways do yall ever think about that.

Sure do. I am 15 weeks pregnant, and if I get worried I'll call the 24/7 on call line they have and ask. But if it's nothing to worry about I may ask about other women's experience.

Everyone's baby is different but if it is nothing serious I don't see the harm in asking questions and getting answers from other experienced mothers.
