Yup. If you feel a twinge in the side during the middle portion of your cycle, it is very likely that it is the egg being released.

I have always felt it. Most of the cycles it alternates sides, but every few months it remains on the same side. My doctor did confirm that the side I felt it in was the ovary I ovulated from that cycle.

Yep, I'm not sure if it means it will be in the next few hours, but I get a sharp pain when I'm ovulating, although not everytime. Maybe about half the time. Sometimes it lasts for a long time, and I feel like my ovary is going to explode! Also, it can be on either side. My friends and I all experience it on different sides.

You ovulate between day 11 and 14 of your menstrual cycle. Just have her keep track and then she will know when shes ovulating!

How old is your wife 12? She has been ovulating since her first menstrual cycle and you do not feel it.
