Why are racist slurs against whites allowed on TV?

I'll admit that I don't watch much network TV, but I haven't seen racial slurs being used against anyone. I have occasionally seen racial stereotyped jokes about whites not being able to dance and such, but those are usually in stories that disprove or challenge those stereotypes.

I see a lot more aggressive poking at stereotypes on cable. Like on "Arrested Development," where the one white character had a black puppet that spouted racial stereotypes about blacks.

And truthfully, the few slurs there are about whites don't carry the same meaning as slurs about blacks, Jews (yes I know most are white), Asians and gays because slurs against whites have never been part of a systematic effort to dis empower and oppress whites the way slurs against other groups have. That doesn't make the use of slurs against whites any less wrong or offensive to individuals, but it does provide important historical context.

How you guys think that it being a "private" conversation makes it better is ridiculous! It just goes to show there a "host" other celebrities who are 2-faced. 1. Larry Bird also said black players are better that white. He EVEN went on to say that he felt INSULTED when a WHITE player from the opposing team was guarding him. So ok let's ban him too. 2/3 Both these two are politicians who make a living off social chaos. Like SOOO many white politicians have. All of their actions have NEVER been accepted by the majority of black people regardless of how some white ppl try to make it seem. If they are banned so will all those hypocritical white politicians-especially in the GOP! But regardless of their faults they HAVE done a lot of good for black ppl and J. Jackson even brought back POW's once. But I'm sure you'll dismiss that. 4.When & where did he say this! & how come his white boss hasn't fired him. Eminem sayed N***** how come he wasn't banned, said fa*g**t too-countless of times. 5.Ban Farrakhan from WHAT exactly? Has David Duke been banned from anything? And the Nation Of Islam now has caucasian members and are abandoning their black supremist doctrine? What about the Klan-who historically have commited murder, arson & rape. Not the NOI. 6.Jamie Foxx-I mean really pls you really are reaching. 7.LOL this was the REAL kicker. There is buffoonery that goes all around on this show. Whites are hardly a "target". ITS A COMEDY! Of all the countless black comedies where everyone is an idiot-do you protest that too-didn't think so. And what about FRIENDS-was that racist for that having any black ppl routinely on it until the last 2 seasons? Frasier anyone-NOT BANNED. Some white ppl are trying TOO hard to play the victim role & try to say that's what blacks do. But you've been complaining since we wanted to vote & sit in the front of the bus, so NOT surprising. Oh & IMUS got another radio show-WOW was anyone shocked? A. Sharpton said he SHOULD be able to make a living-doesn't seem like he wanted him banned.

Because there are really no effective slurs for white people, they are very lame and can obviously pass the current FCC regulation (which is very very strict)

By the way, there is no such thing as "reverse racism".
Using it implies the only whites can be racist.
I see this term consistantly here and it doesn't exist (kinda like reverse-murder).
If this term actually meant anything, the definition would be to consistanly choose a minority race over the majority race 100% of the time (which does not happen)

Saw a black ventriloquist on BET with a white dummy he called "Mr Honky" and the black audience howled with laughter at the white jokes being made. I doubt it would have been so funny to them had it been a white ventriloquist with a black dummy he called "Mr Ni**er". I am offended by white racial slurs as much as by black racial slurs. However if a black or white or hispanic or asian comedian wants to make fun of their own race it's okay by me. Do not make fun of any of the other races.

because we feel so guilty about what our ancestors did that we feel a need to pay for their sins and one way to do that is not stand up for our selves and say no that's wrong we don't say racial slurs in public , music , nor on TV and yet a lot of other races do and that is just wrong..i think that we should all not say them make the world alittle better place...

It's called reverse racism. Some whites are so paranoid about being called racists that they think they must allow themselves to be diminished as a race to avoid being so. It's a lot more common in areas where racism is more prevalent. I am lucky not to live in such a region.

Jrayhp: Reverse racism does not mean racism against white people. It means to be so paranoid about being called racist that you treat people of other races better, or diminish your own in fear of being called racist. The point is that you are still treating them differently, which is racism, but in reverse.

By calling someone racist, for just reiterating a known FACT, is just a way for folks to deny themselves the truth which clearly lies before them.

It is politically correct to be racist against white people. Any other form of racism is recoginzed as racism. Blame white guilt.
