I doubt that you are... there are a lot of HUGE LOTR fans! I'm a big fan (not exactly obsessive) and I wish that I could have been an extra in it too! You and me both! But if you like LOTR so much I think you would like this site http://www.theonering.net/index.shtml it's really awesome! Maybe you can be an extra in the Hobbit! That would be awesome! Anything Tolkein! Have you read the books?

The Films where well done, but and as usual there's always a but, I have read the books of Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit plus other Tolkien books. There is a chapter in Fellowship of the Ring that has been left out of the film, between Frodo leaving Bag-end and arriving at Bree, and that is the meeting of Frodo and Tom Bombadil, this explains how Merrie & Pipin obtain ther swords. I think that would make a good short Film. The Hobbit could be done as two Films. As to being the biggest fan? All I can say is Welcom to the Club.

oh believe me i dont think you are the biggest fan. from some of the stories i have heard of what lengths people have gone to for lotr, it makes us look a tiny bit useless. im glad ive found someone else who is completely fasinated by the films...i have watched the trilogy so many times as well and god only knows how i wanted to go to new zealand etc. but to be honest with you i have just come to the realisation that the closest most people will get to the films is on DVDs and videos and on film posters. being an extra probally isnt all that spectacular.
im really upset that there are no more films, but we have the hobbit to look forward to. and what about the stage show of lotr?

I'm sorry you missed out. I wouldn't have given up my home to be an extra, but I loved all three films. We own the 'high'end' collection of films with the figurines, Narsil, Sting, and other weaponry, not to mention thre sets of the Tolkien books, which we both read loongg before the films.

I felt the same way when I read the trilogy as a boy, and the movies were simply fantastic.

No I doubt you are the biggest fan. I can think of one other person who is far worse. I remember seeing a picture of one man who had Viggo Mortenson as Aragorn tattooed on his back. Now that's just silly.
