Immigrants come here and start restaurants, nail care salons, little shops, etc. and they cannot speak English.
If you say the WEALTHY should be made to help the poor who do not have advantages - I say BUNK.
If immigrants can take advantage of the AMERICAN DREAM - why can't our own citizens (who already speak the language)?

Hellvis - you see by my posts that we travel all over the world. I SEE when we travel, that we are DAMM LUCKY to be Americans. That's what I see.

Still fighting the battles of the 1960's. Apparently this is thought to get votes, promote Republican cohesion.
Welfare has been cut, and is a very small part of your tax dollars, lady. I pay more taxes in taxes than you earn, and I'm not complaining. Find a real issue, this one's been solved as far as your purse is concerned.

Let's see, that could be due to the half million that they get from our government in assistance. Is this what you call the American Dream?
My old landlord came here as an refugee immigrant from Bosnia, automatically got a government grant, not a loan, for 500K so he could establish himself. He bought himself 3 townhouse buildings and started renting them out and refused to maintain them to even minimum standards such as having hot water. Thus is the reason I moved out and the POS tried to sue me for moving out of the apt. before my lease was up.
Anyone can be a success if the government throws you a half a million dollars.
Our government just agreed last week to do this with 10,000 more people from some African refugee camp. That is another 5 billion wasted in what amounts to nothing more than welfare for non US citizens. This is just wrong and it must stop.
I do not see our government giving away the American Dream to our own citizens, do you?

one aspect that has not been touched upon is that immigrants are of a different culture and they come here, save and save, send it home, help others to get here and pool their money. i know this for a fact. they have a big network of support and everyone works for a common goal; success. the nail salon or restaurant.
as for the inidans from india, a lot of times the ones here are from wealthy families. how else could they get here? they have money and education and come here to take advantage of our economy and the other wonderful things about america. which is not really a bad thing.
just my humble opinion.

Well, generally those who come with nothing get some help from family and friends to start those businesses. They also get loans etc.
You can't start a restaurant or nail salon with nothing.
Those who are born here and do have "next to nothing" don't necessarily have that support system. Laziness, ignorance and lack of ambition plays a part too.

Not that I am stalking you or anything, but do you know how many immigrants cater to their own nationalities? It's a large number. And they have mucho help from their English speaking friends/family.

most immigrants... if you actually KNOW ANY... that start up businesses... come here with quite a bit... they are wealthy in thier own country and want to come here and start businesses... and do so with their own wealth...
I mean... do you have a spare 50,000 to start up a business?
you think all immigrants are poor and the same... this is the flaw in your logic... you know... there are rich people outside of the united states... just because his skin is brown, doesn't mean he's not rich...

I agree, every group has it's rotten tomatoes. Yet many immigrants do come here, and start businesses or get ahead in life, while many born citizens wait for welfare every month.

Becasue most of the people on welfare are children. and that's a fact. Now, if you come up with some way to cut funding wothout hurting children, then I'm all ears. Meanwhile, 2 BILLION dollars a week for Iraq...maybe you could start there to cut funding. Then, you wouldn't hurt children, you wouldn't be killing americans, and we could have some of our money back. And before you tell me that the terrorists will kill me if we leave Iraq, I got a better chance of being struck by lightning, and nobody's suggesting we spend money on preventing that...
Oh yeah, one more thing...if you ever went outside the US, you would see that we are anything BUT highly taxed...
Glad you agree that things aren't that bad in America...they aren't coming to take your job...oh wait, you don't have a job.

I semi agree...
however it could be they have nothing to lose to take more risk and don't get too comfortable
and it could be many agencies offer breaks to certain groups to help them that middle to upper class can not partake in
