"who is the most popular superstar of today"
The answer to this question is always the same,
The current WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
It doesn't matter who it is, whoever has the title is the main event in the business at that moment.
To answer the second part of your question,
"who could be the next Hulk Hogan (in terms of fan base)"
One thing in the wrestling business that is for certain is that there will never be another Hulk Hogan. The timing, the energy, the wrestlers, the fans and of course the Hulkster gave birth the most powerful force in the universe, Hulkamania.

right now the closest thing 2 hogan is cena. coz like hogan young fans love him and also like hogan cena is a crap wrestler and can only have good matches if he faces good wrestlers like angle , triple h or edge and 4 the record one hogan is more than enough 4 the world

if pushed right i forsee big things for TNA's Eric Young. The dont fire eric angle has been golddust for him.
From the WWE roster its hard to tell, a lot are lacking charisma or ring skill. Vince would like to see Cena in the slot but the hardcore fans will never allow it while his matches are so poor
