I am leaving for Scotland next week. I am carrying on one bag and am not checking any luggage. Does anyone know the most recent rules and regulations regarding what I can carry on? If it be lotions and make up, do I place everything in a clear plastic bag including water? Can I take toothpaste and lipstick and those types of items? Thank you for your answers.

Baggage policies and fees for carry-on bags and checked luggage widely vary across airlines, be it some cheap airline connecting short haul routes or five star carriers flying on long-haul routes. Passengers are generally allowed to carry one piece of hand luggage and one personal item on-board, such as a purse, briefcase or laptop, as the cabin baggage. However, the baggage being carried to the aircrafts is thoroughly checked and inspected by the airport authorities to ensure utmost flight safety.

Any liquid must be less than 3oz and presented in a zip-lock bag. Lipstick is ok, but lip gloss is not. Your best bet would be to pack dry makeup like solid powder, an eyeliner pencil, and a lipstick. Any food is not allowed, unless it was purchased after security in the terminal area.

liquids have to be less than 3 oz. you have to have it in a clear bag. you cannot even have water, you can purchase it after security and still some places will not allow you to take that water that you bought past security on the plane.
