a tear or even a strain usually results in terrific pain. If you have no pain, consider yourself lucky.

I can't imagine it is pain free. Maybe you are just lucky. I tore my ACL in 1997 in an MMA match. When it tore the sound was audible and everyone around heard it. I wasn't pain free for a whole year. In 2000 I finally had health insurance to pay for the surgery. Up until that time it was not uncommon for my knee to bend outward towards my right side. I would just be walking along and fall down. It was awful. You will know for sure when your MRI comes back. Good Luck

I have torn both of my ACLs and neither one cause any pain other than the initial pain of the injury which didnt last but a couple of hours. Just had surgery on one to have it replaced and it hurt way worse than it ever did before..... but is getting better. The instability in your knee is a good indicator of a torn ACL/MCL, wish you the best

You probably have a higher threshold for pain compared to others. You should be worried over the instability specially if you belong to the more athletic age group. This will prevent you from doing sports and other strenuous activities. Get the MRI done ASAP because your knee is really messed up if it's unstable. Good luck!

I just tore my ACL in March, and it was about the size of beachball the next day and I could barely walk. Its very doubtful you tore your ACL.

You may have a high tolerance to pain, so it does not bother you.
