If not, why not? I see many women that are impecably dressed, make-up perfect, hair perfect, but their nails super short and unmanicured. Why isn't this more of a priority to more women? It seems to take away from the total overall look. If this describes you, please explain why.

Yes I make my nails and toe nails a priority. That's like wearing a Versace dress with Kmart shoes or something. Glamour has to flow from your head to your toe... nails.

Priority to me at all times not just when dressed up I keep them short and well groomed I do not use nail polish now as I'm diabetic and less chance of fungus infection if I just use a good hand cream

When I was younger, I had my nails done and the polish changed every week when I had my hair done, I used to love the beauty parlor before unisex. I liked wearing just the cape and seeing all the new woman's magazines, and being served tea while under the dryer and the chat with my hairdresser and being pampered with a face cream massage and a head rub and a hand massage. Those days are now gone and I don't enjoy going any more. I just have it cut 2 times a year.

I feel that my nails aren't a priority. I bite my nails so there isn't much i can do with them. Plus you never really notice your nails until you out the door anyway. There just not a big part of a woman daily routine. Plus any girl who gets her nails done once a week is either rich or really trying to be perfect. But to be honest no one really cares that much about your hands unless your a hand model or something.

I don't ever do my nails. Mostly because the polish wears off way too quickly. I do alot of gardening outside and my nails never stay neat. That is not to mention what house work can do to one's nails.
Most women I have seen with beautifully manicured nails get them done at a salon and have little or no idea what housework or yard work is. I am not going to pay someone to do my nails.
I prefer my hands being ready to work rather than ready for a photoshoot

Super short nails are not a sign of not caring. Many careers do not allow for long nails such as some nursing positions and massage therapists. I am a massage therapist and if I were to keep long nails I would hurt my clients. I keep my nails very short and manicured and I DO NOT think it makes me look unfinished. My toenails are always manicured, eye brows waxed etc...

I would rather have short nails that serve a purpose then to have long tacky fake nails just to appease society's vain streak.

I have no one to impress but myself. I am also a compulsive nail biter, so they are never neat and pretty, I'm okay with that. I've learned to not care about what people like you think about such a tiny detail that really shows nothing about me. Those superficial things aren't what make most women beautiful anyway.

So sorry every part of me isn't picture perfect like models and celebrites. I would rather have imprefections somewhere on me, gives character.

P.S. My idea of dressing up isn't what you probably have in mind anyway.

No, I do not. I use my hands a lot and nail polish rarely stays unchipped on me for longer than 30 mins or so...if I'm dressing up for a special event, I might polish my nails, but it comes back off the next day (or looks really hideous)...

..typically though they are left natural...always clean, and keep them filed into a nice shape (no rough edges) but as long as they are able to grow until one breaks (when it gets tough to type, they get trimmed)...that's about it..

...now my toenails, are usually polished...especially if they are going to show...

I feel so put together when I have a manicure and pedicure. It just completes the look. When my nail polish startes to chip and fade I try to hide my hands, and thenI get myself to the salon pronto!!

Yes, normally. It depends on what type of event and how much time I have. If I will be around people, shaking hands, etc. I make more of an effort.

not usually, i make sure there clean and it ends there. i don't think its that important. people will notice your hair, make up,and clothes. i actual like my nails short. i have to do alot stuff like write, play the violin, ect; long nails get in the way of most things , they are very impractical. i also don't think it looks that good to began with. i don't want to look like i have brightly colored claws.
