One local woman, who asked not to be named, said after the heartache of deciding to have an abortion she was mortified to find the hospital had used the same furnace they burn rubbish in to incinerate her terminated baby.

She said: "I am furious and very hurt. Imagine my horror when I discovered that my baby was incinerated in the same furnace as the hospital rubbish."

She just sucked her baby into a sink. She killed it. That didn't bother her. The fact that they burned the NOW DEAD baby in an incinerator did bother her.

To david n:
1. This happened in the UK, not the USA.
2. WTF does the economy and health care have to do with sucking a baby into a sink?
3. Please tell me (lie if you must) that you neither vote nor breed.

What does she care if that hospital incinerates the aborted fetusus. She should of thought about that before she killed her baby. Better yet she should of thought about that before spreading her legs wide open! That lady just sickens me to no end! So does that hospital.

No, youre not stupid or out of touch. What you're missing is that people are just plain primitive. We still believe that dead bodies retain some aspect of the prior life. We spend billions of dollars annually on having the bodies of our loved ones cremated, buried, interred, with coffins, headstones, burial plots etc. because we still believe that there's some kind of life after death. This woman you quoted isn't thinking rationally about this issue, and that seems to surprise you. You and I both realize that 'the baby' is simply dead tissue now. Well, before the abortion it was simply live tissue.

What makes a thing human? How do we define humanity? Do our definitions change over time? If so, is there any absolute truth to the definition? Why do we assume that killing a human is any more 'wrong' than killing an animal? Isn't that an arbitrary decision based on the fact that WE are human and therefore biased towards our own species? These are all important questions to consider.

Personally I don't think abortion is right, but it is legal. I don't think that the women has any ground to stand on.....if she cared that much about "her" baby then she would not have had an abortion. But, I don't think the Hospital should be using that incinerator......I agree with one of the comments made at the bottom of the article....the women who choose to have abortions should be respossible for the costs of haveing the baby cremated. Then the hospital would not have to worry.....people like here just piss me off.

There are about 1.3 million abortions every year in America... With good jobs and good health care I believe most of them could have been avoided... Time to get the republicans out!

Once she decided to kill her child she relinquished any rights she might have had over the child. She should have no say over what is done to the remains. SHe should be thankful they had the decency to tell her. The hospital workers have more decency than her.
