Jar of Jelly Beans.... Get a clear plastic bag... and cut holes out for arms and legs... Use a scarf "as the tye around your neck"
blow up colored balloons and stuff them in the bag with you....
A nerd. Pretty self explanatory.
An old lady. (Get an older looking dress that comes about to the knees, and some stockings.... get baby powder and pat it in your hair for grey hair. (would help if you had a pair of glasses to wear to).

Last year I saw on the Martha Stewart show how they made a witches costume from black garbage bags and duct tape.
you need the drawstring bags. one they cut a slit in the area under the drawstrings so it was a bit longer and they cut ,in a zig zag, the bottom part of the bag off, that part is used for another part of the costume.
this one is for the top half of the costume. It is put on like a tube top with the drawstrings as the shoulder straps. pull and tie to fit.
don't worry about the strings coz they get covered later.
then another bag is cut to be the skirt, zig zag like the first and that is tied around the waist. Duct tape as much as needed to keep the top and bottom together.
they also cut a third bag in half to be the sleeves...they used duct tape to hold things in place. Just tape the sleves to the top.
the cut off parts are used to make the cape and they pulled on the zig zag points to stretch them.(also did on skirt)
It was pretty cool and waterproof but you may need scissors to cut the costume off when done.
I hope I explained enough for you to figure out how to do it.
a half dozen bags and tape are cheap especially if you already have them around
where you cut the zig zag depends on your size.
the sleeves bag is cut down the sides so one half the drawstring can be each sleve gather at the neck...
cut and fit the dress to size.
just add a hat and your good to go.

Frankenstein monster: Dark trousers, and an oversize brown suit jacket. Wrap the jacket more tightly around the person, and fasten it in place from the inside with safety pins. Draw a huge scar with giant stitches across their forehead with eyebrow pencil or magic marker. Add any other makeup touches that will enhance the character. Superhero: Wad up some newspapers and fasten them to the inside of a sweatshirt to simulate giant muscles. If you have any football shoulder pads, those would also make a good framework for the paper muscles. Make a chest logo for Superman or another well-known character. Draw on big glowering eyebrows and a couple of frown lines to create a tough look. Gangster: Same over-muscled look, with a double-breasted suit jacket, a wide tie, and a fedora hat.

Wear a tight fitting black dress or tight black pants and top. Paint an upside down triangle on your nose with black eyeliner and draw wiskers on your cheeks. Cat ears are one dollar at the Dollar Tree and other dollar stores. Go the extra mile if you have anything leopard print in your closet. Be cat woman. Or go for the same effect with a tight red get-up. Be a she-devil.

A friend just told me to cut out cereal lables and tape/pin them to your shirt with blood. Get a plastic knife. You'd be a "cereal" (serial) killer.
