I work with elderly people, so I see lots of husbands and wives who have been married for 50 and even 60 years! I'm very envious.
I doubt that 50 years from NOW, however, there will be many couples that have lasted that long.

We're at 17 and still going strong. Have sisters with marriages at 34 years and 37 years. Sister's in-laws are around 60 years!

My parents just hit 29 years! My grandparents in law hit 62 or 63 before they both died. Marriages can last a long time and all you have to do is work on it. Honest communication and great sex are the keys.

My grandparents will be married 60 years in June 2007 - they've known each other a total of 64 years. I think that's amazing :)
My husband and I have been married a year - we hope to be married for that long too. :)

My wife and I have been married over 27 years. She is the best part of every day and I really don't know what I'd do without her.
Note: I am neither Catholic nor deeply religious in the conventional sense.
