I am a mother, not a grandmother but I have heard alot that grandparents tend to love their grandkids more then their own kids.I find it hard to believe that I could love anyone more then my own kids.I will find out one day.I think that as we are raising our kids their is alot of chaos our kids gives us.We have to be a parent, that is our role.A grandma`s or grandfather`s role is to love the grandkids, spoil them and direct them in the right direction.Grandparents does not in anyway have all the stress from a child that parents do.So I would say no,grandparents do not love their grandkids more then what they loved their own kids they just have more time and get to enjoy the grandkids more then what they could with their own kids.

TOTALLY normal. I know that my grandma was the same way. She raised me and my brother (I am 28, he is 30) she actually pasted away 8 1/2 years ago, it was the hardest day of our lives. My mom was in our lives but more like a "friend" My grandma always said to everyone that we were HER kids. It was the best feeling I have ever had. And the best memories ever. Believe me .....I know that they will feel the love and never forget it.

I don't think you love them more, just differently.I'm sure that now you have less stress because you are not personally raising your grandkids. You have more time to enjoy them and less worry about everything they do. My oldest child is getting married and I look forward to being a grandma one day for those reasons!!

Yes

You are a little more removed from them than your children, and can afford to be the doting grandparent. Doubtless if they lived with you you would be the same as with your kids!

I doubt you love your children any less than you grandchildren just the thing is you don't have to be the one to do the raising and you have more time to just play and be the spoiler =)

i dont see any problems with that...your children im sure grown up already! and well its your grandkids sometimes i feel my parents love my baby more than me but its natural! my son is spoiled by my parents and heck i wish i was half as spoiled but either way i dont see it as them loving him more!

Yes this is normal only because they are not your full responsibility and you are not around them as much as you were around your own kids for them to get on your nerves.
