Why do liberals think we should be taxed into oblivion and support all sorts of social programs that just enable society to become LAZY and do nothing for themselves.
Give a man a fish, he eats for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he eats for life.

Liberals believe in keeping people oppressed and more dependant on the govt for social programs. They do not care about personal responsiblity and are always passing the laws that continually take personal responsibility out of our hands. They want to police what we eat and drink, they want to take away our property for tax increase purposes, they want to give free health care, they love the social welfare programs so they can have the power of govt in their hands and continue to take away our freedoms to live as individuals.

You make several assumptions in your question.
1. 'Liberals think we should be taxed into oblivion...'
No. Liberals think that the wealthiest citizens should be taxed according to their means in order to help our nation pay for it's expenses. Those expenses do not only include basics like infrastructure, but programs that help the least privileged parts of our society become self-sufficient and functional.
2. Social programs 'enable society to become lazy'.
No. There will always be lazy people, and social programs or the lack thereof will have no effect on this. The fact is that there are a great number of our citizens that DESPITE hard work and great effort cannot make enough money to pay basic expenses and help make a future for their children. The social programs you despise can assist them in doing this.
You seem to think that everyone is born with exactly the same opportunities regardless of where they're born or what type of surroundings they have. This is a naive attitude and shows an ignorance of the facts.

It started out as a way to help the needy and ended up being a free for all for those who don't want to work and those who are living together while one works under the table. Too many of the people benefiting from our hard earned tax dollars are just flat out lazy. When the bleeding liberals see people for who the really are,
o wait I'm sorry the all have tunnel vision!! Give till it hurts and hurt some more policy. I had the unfortunate pleasure of knowing many of the lazy welfare grabbing no job having people ! It probably will never change unless people start realizing and investigating the people we elect.

I think very few people in this country fall into the category of wanting to tax the country into oblivion. If that were true, we'd already be taxed into oblivion. I believe 99% of America feels the same way you do, if not more so. Also, the percentage of people who actually fall into the category of liberal is minute. If there were a large number of liberals, we would be swimming in socialistic programs.
All in all, I don't think we need to fear any liberal movement altering the way we live. We just need to be sure we vote in every election. If you become complacent, you lose.

Although most of this is true, a lot of people are beyond "earning" their money- Bill Gates, the Waltons (Wal-Mart) family, and any other EXTREMELY wealthy individual(s), for example. How about sharing the wealth a little bit? We add more and more BILLIONAIRES to the list every year in this country, yet we can't feed our own children?? Schools are falling apart?? How is that right? I understand your point, but shouldn't the wealthy pay a LITTLE more than they do already? Wealthy individuals are as wealthy as they are because of other people- including the poor. Period. When we, the middle class, is taxed into oblivion, I can't wait to hear what people will be saying.

I support you in that question. I think that we should help poor and sick with some governmental help. I'm against giving free handouts to people that are just too lazy to work. Welfare should be ended. There should be reductions in workers comp and unemployment checks should be ended it too. We can't make the government dependent on people and I think we should use private charities and religious organizations that could (away from government business) provide monetary help for sick people and poor until they get back on their feet. This is the issue that I support Republicans and I'm a democrat.

Understood! We all have to pay for our government, but I think much of what we pay is wasted.
Even FDR said welfare programs have a "narcotic" effect.
We need to strike the right balance. MUCH easier said than done.

Because liberals are really socialists. What they failed to understand is that "ultimate socialism" leads to the end of freedom.
