I was diagnosed when I was in junior high and nothing was done at the time. Now I have back pain almost constantly. I went to a chiropractor and he told me there wasn't much he could do for me now. He does help with the pain some but it always comes back.

Yes, I have scoliosis and kyphosis (curvature going the other way). Chiropractors can be good but they can really mess you up. I've found the best relief from acupuncture, but the same applies here. If you go make sure they know what they are doing. I've also had a friend who does something called raindrop therapy, which is massage with essential oils, and she says it helps a lot with the pain. Haven't tried it yet, but am planning on it. Also, Tempurpedic mattresses are beneficial.

If you do have problems with your spine, do not have surgery! Check with a Chiropractor that does alignment of the spine (not all Chiropractors do alignment). I have had problems with my lower back most of my life, and I see a Chiropractor one a week for to keep my spine in alignment. A great website to find a Chiropractor that does alignment is :

Do not let any doctor talk you into surgery. Check out Chiropractic first.

Wow! I have a significant curve but you've got me beat :-) (I know this isn't a competition.) Just curious, do you really have Harrington rods? I didn't think they've been used in the US (most of the world, actually) for many years now. I can't answer your question as I don't have enough experience for you. I also can't offer any advice but I can offer support. If you ever need to talk, vent, or whatever, feel free to email me.
