we are in the south west region-where can we go for a lil vacation?

Apparently cheap is relative ... as witnessed by previous answer.
Still don't know exactly where you live ... but in southwest, perhaps a little camping trip? or do a search on attractions for areas within 50-100 miles, or whatever, and go get an inexpensive motel, visit parks, go swimming, a movie .. ordinary things become more special when it's in a different place. Just have fun!

Try a cruise, they have some (around here) that go outr for just a couple a days.
Supose to be cheap.
