The texture and the taste can make her mouth pucker. Strawberries often cause allergies at an early age. Try one food a week to see what she enjoys and what could possibly cause an allergy. Do not dip spoon in the jar, feed her, and then refridgerate. Take a spoon, dip some out, put it in a bowl & put the jar in the fridge for about 2-3 days then chunk it. As far as making your own baby food:

Good luck. I plan to try that as soon as my little one starts eating.

Just keep offering her the foods. Sometimes it can take 10 or more tries on a certain food before a baby will take to it. Have you tried mixing her veggies with her fruit. This helped my neice eat her baby food.
I think 24 hours is the limit on opened baby food but I'm not for sure on that. Try gerber.com. They have a lot of helpful hints on feeding solids!

I don't blame her! Jarred baby food tastes gross! Try it, you'll see. Your daughter has good taste. It's really quite simple to make your own baby food. I had a hand cranked baby food grinder (mill)...very inexpensive. They make electric ones too. Just cook the veggie until soft, and put it through your food mill. Viola! Baby food! Bananas don't need to be cooked, neither do avocados (my daughter loved avocado and still does!). Apples, peaches, pears (orchard fruits) should be cooked. As far as how long jarred food lasts in the fridge. I don't know, I never used it. Good luck!

You have to keep giving her the jarred food so she can get used to it. Righ now she is not used to the taste. Jarred food last only 2Days in the refrigerator. It wont make a diff. if you make it your self. It is just healthier. I have 4 kids so i should know.

It's really easy to make yourself, just steam the veggies and puree. Same with fruit, just fork mash or puree. You can freeze in ice cube trey then into a ziplock freezer bag for 3 months. The book "Super Baby Foods" explains it well and has chapters for each food and how to prepare it.

Remember that food is for practice in the first year and not nutrition. They get all their nutrients from breastmilk or formula. Listen to your baby and remember that she is learning and doesn't Have to eat the food to be healthy. Here's a website that I found incredible helpful as my baby wouldn't take anything from a spoon. I started right onto finger foods at 8 months and she's doing great with them now.

it should say on the jar.........isn't it around 2-3 days?
you can make your own and put it into ice cube trays and freeze it.......
My daughter has NEVER had an interest in food..........
since she was 6 months old till now......(almost 2)......
and I just basically gave her what she would eat....if she had to have chicken noodle soup 3 days in a row that's what I would do.
