Because i met alot of them in the east coast, not sure about the west coast 'cause they have more asian populations there

Angel Baby- Bewcause the Korean do not know how to speak another language beside their own language, so thats why they have to speak Korean.

First of all, not all “Americans” think that way. I’m Asian American. I don’t think all Asians are Chinese. I think the more appropriate wording would be “Caucasian Americans,” or something. Secondly, I have encountered people who assume all Asians are Chinese, it’s because they were immature, ignorant, and self-centered. Completely oblivious to life and culture outside of their own shallow bubble. If you must concern yourself with them, at the most pity them. Don’t get angry or let it negatively affect you.
Also, I’m from the West Coast, and there are people like that wherever you go.

sorry to say, but china is the biggest and americans think asians all look the same. the funny thing is in korea, they can't tell either. they assume every asian person speaks korean. so it's not just americans. lmao!
EDIT: Have you ever been to Asia? Do you know anything about their school systems? They are taught English too. They make the same assumption as whites. Just because your hertiage is Asian and you are familiar with tradition, it doesn't mean you are an expert on their current culture if you haven't been there.

Why do (whatever you are) think that one or two americans think and speak for the rest? You asking why "all americans" think something, is as bad as what you are complaining about, that "Americans" in general think the same ignorance. There are just as many ignorant asians as there are americans, africans, indians, muslims.......humans come in different colors, just as they come in different levels of intelligence. I really don't think it is determined by where you were born.

wow i have no idea...i'm asian and i definitely have no chinese ancestry...i'm indian..
but i have noticed that when ppl see someone who looks chinese...they immediately say that that person looks asian..
but when they see an indonesian or something...they never refer to them as asians..they just call them indonesians
