I've been to Puerto Rico several times. There aren't any "forbidden" foods, but they prefer fruits, salty and fried foods with rice. they do not like spicy foods AT ALL. Most restaurants don't even have black pepper on the table, but they will have yellow ADOBO (see http://www.goya.com/english/products/product.html?prodSubCatID=7&prodCatID=4 )

The food is very different from Mexican or even traditional spanish food, it is a mix of Spanish and Carribean.

Puerto Rico is a place not a religion. Usually dietary restrictions are because of religious beliefs or health issues.
