Calling From Japan To Canada

Go to any major convenience store and ask for a Brastel phone card pack. Or pick up a Metropolis Magazine in any major music store: the mag usually has a Phone bank card stuck in there. Either way, follow the instructions on the card and call home for less than 11 yen a minute if you're on a land line, or 30 yen /min if it's a mobile phone. If all that is no good, ask someone who's lived in Japan for a while: they should know how to help you!

I recommend you buy a Brastel international card from Family Mart or Lawsons. Its 2,000 yen and you get 72 minutes to the US. I bet it is the same to Canada.

I don't know about Japan but my fiance who lives in the UK and I who lives in the US use a program called SKYPE. Its free and saves a ton of money in long distance. Plus, its better than a phone because you get video too..

I talk to my brother who's in Taiwan on Skype, or I call his computer with MSN phone. Nothing better than talking free on the computer. Good luck
