Jen,
I think this is purely instinctual and thats all there is. Don't complicate this issue and take it personal - I'm a guy in a happy marriage - Love of my wife BUT I look at other women and think after looking "Yeah but she could never be to me what she is to me - she's my soulmate, I'm grateful to have found her and I'm not giving her up"\
Just my honest opinion.
BTW, Masters & Johnson the sex experts did a survey in the mid 70's about this topic and they found that 8.5 out of every 10 guys looked at other women regularly.
From the data they determined that 85% of guys looked at other women....
AND
15% of guys were liars!!! Get the point? ;-)

Men will always look at other women. Women should take it to heart! They are natural just like us Women. We love the magazines and models and actors, So, what's the difference? Just because a Man looks at a women while being committed doesn't men he's bad or a jerk, just means he's human and that we as women do the same. We are always keep that state of mind WHAT IF? But in reality it is nothing more than a glance that we forget about the next 5 min, but if the man/women is contemplating on the women or man then there is some issue of desire (wanting another for his/her own pleasure). Sometimes its good to look and study your man when he does this, because then you know him more and what he likes, also a fun game to play with him and try to guess his type lol... Play with it and study it but don't take it to heart! They mean nothing by it!

Men can be influenced by hormones. It is an irrational yet tight cycle that takes a very strong will to keep in check. Even some of the males who are considered faithful notice and appreciate the attraction they have to other females.
There is not a whole lot that can be done about it but you can work through it together if you have a healthy dose of communication going on in your commitment. It is important to not only let him know that it is ok to acknowledge it but also for yourself to acknowledge that it is not something that can be turned off like a light switch.
If you feel short-changed you can always negotiate mutual rights and agree that it is ok to check out the guys. Feel free to impose a strict limit though.
Hope that is of some help to you.

Well..can you honestly say that you do not look at other men while in a relationship...its normal, they do it, we do it, its also harmless..If your bf or husband is honest, and caring and loving, then why get jealous if he looks at another woman..he still goes home at the end of the day with you. Looking is fine. You have to be secure with yourself and have self confidence. Just because a man looks does not mean he is not honest. I do not think there is a man out there that will not look at another woman while in a relationship. We all people watch....good luck

Simply put, we are dogs. No seriously, most men just love looking. Window shopping is okay, as long as you do not attempt to buy the goods. Women do it too. There is nothing wrong with looking. It is like a diet, you look at the piece of cake but do not eat it.

Does the phrase "Married not DEAD" mean anything to you?
how about "Just because I am on a diet, doesn't mean I can't look at the menu"
Why should he NOT look at other people, are you that insecure about your relationship? Are you so vain to think that no one on the earth is better looking than you?
In fact I guess anyone who commits to you should gouge their eyes out and never look at ANYTHING ever again.

It was put best this way: men's sex drives are like a microwave oven, women's are like a slow cooker. They both can get really hot, just in different time frames LOL. Men are more visual and tactile, while women are more emotional and relational. It's in the genetic make-up.

I know why woman do it if this helps. We are looking for the best mate sort of like the Alien in the movie Species. As for men maybe they do it for that too. Hope this helps a little.

When I'm in a restaurant, I sometimes notice what the other diners are eating and think to myself, "Hmm, that sure looks good", even when I have a perfectly fine dinner on my own plate. That doesn't mean that I'm going to dump my own meal and go grab his plate, but as one who loves and appreciates good food, I can't help but notice when something looks tasty. When I see a beautiful garden, I can't help but appreciate and admire it, even though I have a fine garden of my own. That doesn't mean that I plan to pick his flowers or dig them up and plant them in my own garden. A garden or a woman, a thing of beauty is a joy to behold. To behold is not the same as to hold, as, in one's arms. Discreet admiration is an altogether different thing from rudely ogling and gawking.

It is just human nature and does not mean that they are not committed to someone else however having said that if this is constantly happening and they are obsessed with other women then they need to pray and ask God to take control of their impulse to do this and their emotions.
