It's been everpresent since I had a cold back in June. I have to hack up mucus several times a day, and it's really disgusting -- I think it's postnasal drip that just has never stopped. What can I do about it?

Added: I had antibiotics for a while, which helped, but the minute I stopped, it came right back.

Drink lots of fluids to help thin the mucus. See a doctor as it might be a chronic sinus condition or a sinus infection that didn't go away. You may need to be treated with antibiotics to help this go away. Good Luck! Nance

I had the same thing happen to me and i agree it is a mojor inconvience and i was fed up with it, its synus drainage. It eventually caused my toncills to swell 3' each and supper hard to eat or breath. I had to have sergery to get them out, after the healing, i can breath and go all day without mucus anywhere but the now and then blowing of the nose. Look in a mirror to see if you can see swelling of the back of the mouth, how well can you see your uvula? (punching bag thing) ask you doctor about it, im glad i did!! I hope your live can soon be mucus free!! And btw i went bout 2 1/2 years of that constant.. Hope i helped!!!

Drink lots of plain hot water, and exercise your voice. Sing high notes until it itches (it dosen't matter if it sounds good) and you'll get the urge to cough it up. My husband sings professionaly, and this is what he does to get the mucus out. It's his own pet obsession, i guess you could say. haha Do this for about fifteen minutes a day until the mucus is out. At night, hook up a hot steam vaporizer, and make sure to take steamy showers daily, or go to the steam room at your gym. Hope this helps!

You already have many good suggestions, but I would also
stay away from all dairy products untill it gets cleared up.
dairy products tend to stimulate the formation of mucus.

The best cure is having a teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm water as soon as you get up in the morning.
I have the same problem and my GP suggested this .it was a sucess.
Go ahead try this.
