My daughter is almost 6 months old and has been rolling over for a little over a month...but she only rolls from back to stomach...she doesn't really like it on her stomach so after a few minutes (if she lasts that long) she starts to whine and cry...I don't pick her up right away, but rather roll her onto her back before I pick her up, hoping to teach her...is this ok for her to only roll one way, or should she be doing both by now? And how can I teach her to roll from stomach to back?

My daughter did the same for quite a while (aged 3-5 months). I did exactly what you are doing and it resolved itself...she was sitting up on her own a couple of weeks later.

hi sara-i have 4 kids 13 to 2yrs.my experience has been that every kid is different.some do things faster than others.try to find something she likes to play with, put it on the floor and place her on her tummy and see what happens. try a new toy or keys or an old phone your not using.my oldest daughter didn't want to crawl so i had to make her crawl.it's an important developmental step.she cried and was so mad when i did that, but she got it.if you see her move towards one side help her to roll over.if you can you might try getting a toy called tummy time.i don't know where your located but try toys r us or any large toy store.i hope this info helps.don't give up.she will get it soon.

Babies all do things at their own pace. Just play with her on the floor and encourage it. She cries because she is frustrated. Just push her a little to show how it feels to roll that way and praise her for any improvements. I wouldn't worry.

SOMETIMES IT TAKE SOME BABIES LONGER THAN IT DOES OTHERS TO DO CERTAIN THINGS. GIVE HER TIME. SHE WILL START ROLLING OVER ON HER OWN. EVERYTIME SHE TURNS OVER ON HER STOMACH, CONTINUE NOT PICKING HER UP RIGHT AWAY. GIVE HER A CHANCE TO DO IT HERSELF. IT WILL NOT HARM HER. SOMETIMES WHEN THEY CRY AND THEY REALLY WANT TO DO SOMETHING, THEY EVENTUALLY DO IT BECAUSE THEY HAVE BUILT UP THAT STRENGTH AND CONFIDENCE.
