Yes, typically your HCG level doubles about every 48 hours. If the exact number isn't an "exact double" don't worry too much about it. If your doctor was concerned about your levels they would have told you. HCG levels going down are a sign of problems and/or HCG levels increasing too quickly like 744 jumps to 8500 in 48 hours. This type of increase can mean multiple babies and/or problems. Did they check your progesterone levels? My first miscarriage @ 6 weeks my HCG level & progesterone levels started dropping & my body miscarried on it's own. My second miscarriage @ 10 weeks my HCG level had gone from 864 to 35,000 in 48 hours, progesterone was dropping, they did an ultrasound and there was no heartbeat (only 1 sac- not multiple) . I required a D&C. **note: I was being monitored closing as I was on fertility drugs. Your doctors will know if there are problems & they will tell you if you need to be concerned. Try not to worry--- everything sounds fine. Enjoy the joy of being pregnant & congrats!!

Yes, your levels should double every 2-3 days. If there was any cause for concern, your OB should've informed you when they gave you the test results.

Yes that' fine, they say it takes 48 to 72 hours and they "typically" double. As long as your levels are going up by leaps and bounds, then you're doing great......congrats to you!
