Here's an idea - why don't you define "REAL literary works" first?
The Harry Potter books are, in my opinion, "real literary works", as real as, say, Charles Dickens' works. They are very well-written, suspenseful, engaging and have great plots, characters, dialog, settings and themes.
Moreover, in this age of TV and movies, which promote passive consumption, I think it's fantastic that someone is writing books and is getting kids (and some adults) hooked on reading, getting them to actively use their imaginations.
Hey, don't be a "literary snob." The real test of a classic is how long it lasts. And I'd be willing to bet big bucks that Harry Potter et al are going to be around for a very long time.

Good Point, although then that would be saying that HP actually deserves a category, which would mean it had some substance worth discussing...maybe a pointless fiction section ;)
