Wouldn't surprise me a bit. If there is a rotten apple in your barrel then some of those apples closest knows about it, right?

No, I wouldn't be surprised at all. Some people certainly tried to hide the truth about his contacts with pages because Florida, as we all know is an extremely important political state especially during elections. Yes, he is trying to sway attention away from his own abuse but I think the damage has already been done no matter what comes out about the Priest. This scandal puts a nail in the Conservative coffin because there best and main arguing point is "family values" and Foley almost completely destroyed that strong conservative issue that has won them many elections.

I think like many people in his position he felt he could get away with it. Congressmen and White House staffers can get away with a lot inside the beltway that would get us "mere mortals" locked up on our side.
And for the most part he did. But like people who drive drunk, you can do it for just so long, but each sunsequewnt time you go further and further into the abyss until you get caught.
But I also believe the "contact" was all emails. I don't think he ever actually had an affair.

We don't judge all Liberals by the behaviour of one man, otherwise you'd all be sharing "cigars" with a congressional page in a blue dress in the white house.
Foley was and is an ash (did I get that by the censors?) and I do not condone what he was doing, or even who he may have been doing. But to my knowledge, no "law" was broken (age of consent), only his promise to his constituents. For that alone he should be thrown out.
Regardless of his childhood issues. We all grow up and deal with things.

no,i wouldn't be surprised.yes,he's a pervert and the only thing it means for the conservatives is how the liberals use it against them.
republicans still have a moral foundation and won't brush it off as nothing as the democrats do when one of their own does something immoral.

Now that his behavior has been revealed, anything negative involving him and underage males wouldn't surprise me.
