my roof needs about 50 new shingles due to wind damage. I have called 3 roofers and no one has called me back. Is it because it's a small job or are they that busy. Is there something I should know??

It is because it is a small job and roofers are busy up until about Thanksgiving.
If you've lost that many shingles already you will very likely need them all replaced soon.

Depending on where you live this will cost between $150 - $300 per square to have done. (A square is 100 square feet of roof.) To figure this out measure the length and width of one side of your house and multiply those 2 numbers (EX. 16' length X 30' width = 480 square feet) then double that (EX 480 x 2 = 960 square feet) this will tell you how big the roof is and give you an idea of the cost involved.

My boyfriend does roofs. Some roofers would consider the job to small. My boyfriend and most, would consider it good business to return your phone call.I suggest you make a few more calls if your town is fairly large.Be careful not to let them over charge you because as you say the job is small.Do you have home owners insurance? If so.Be sure to contact your insurance company.Good luck in getting your roof fixed. If you lived close to us.I'd have my boyfriend give you an estimate.By the way estimates are usually done free.

It's normally because they are busy. Normally they'll be doing several roofing jobs at once and running back and forth between them all. Also, you have to remember the same storm will hit almost everyone around your area so there will be a bunch of other people with roof damage all at the same time if it was caused by a storm.

A foot of snow at the roof, is not going to intent a leak on a roof that is undamaged and no longer tired. I'd name the roof repairer first, get them out right here at present, do a transitority fix or patch at the roof - if they may be able to uncover the broken phase. Then you could have complied with the coverage stipulations to mitigate your loss. Then, you dossier the declare on Monday - assuming that the roof repairer says, sure, that is hail harm, and no longer, oh, this roof is so ancient you'll have changed it 5 years in the past.

I had a small leak and had the same problem . . .they want to replace whole roofs not just patch . . I ended up calling a handyman that I saw his sign on the side of the road.. he fixed the roof leak for only 100.00, we've had several storms since then and the roof is not leaking.

It's because they know that just trying to replace 50 shingles isn't going to work. The color will not match and you won't be satisfied witht he job. If this is the path you really want to take, you might try contracting a handyman type to do it.

Same thing here, had a roofer come do our shop, never finish the whole thing, that was a year ago, and we never paid him, one would think he would be looking for at least his due share?

I think they are so busy they don't care!

ok theyhave about 20jobs lined up eachmonth and making maybe $6-$10 grand for each.....so I guess calling back someone for a couple shingles isnt worth it....I would simply call a handy man many are also looking for work
