There can be many causes for soft or weak erections, or problems maintaining an erection. These causes include age (usually after 30), vascular problems, penis injury, such as damage to veins and arteries inside the penis, a hormonal imbalance, excessive stress and anxiety, diabetes, chronic smoking/drinking, drugs, over-masturbation and sexual exhaustion, or surgery. If left untreated, weak erections can lead to permanent sexual dysfunction!

If it is really becoming a problem, go to a doctor who specializes in men's trouble's like these, but be weary of any doctor who immediately tries to prescribe a pill for the problem (like viagra). The doctor will be able to recommend a therapist, which is the best treatment for erectile disfunction (instead of covering the problem up with pills, actually solve it.) Then again, even if he says "it isn't you, it's me" or whatever, don't take it to heart. It may in fact be you, but obviously this guy cares about your feelings, so maybe he just doesn't want to hurt you. I say this because of the whole "he doesn't want sex to get boring..." thing. The more you have sex, the more sex you want. Sex of course increases your libido leading you to want it more so that is kind of a bs statement. There are also a lot of sex therapy books you could try reading in order to find ways to "reconnect" (He might just not be as attracted to you as he once was, in which case you should both do excercises to put the excitement back into your relationship.) It could also be stress, anxiety or fatigue.

Bad news sweetheart. No one wants to ever say this but ED is not always the man's fault. Before I became a priest, I was with a woman i did not like and guess what? It got soft as pudding. Never had that problem with the ones I loved and cared about, never had ED unless I was with a one night stand.

There are times when normal sex does become monotonous. I guess you and your boyfriend need to explore his sexuality to find out what excites him now. For some, it just something kinky like putting on a nurse's uniform or some sexual position or variation. Experiment until you've found the key but if something makes you uncomfortable, you don't have to agree to it for the sake of his desires.

I can guarantee the more you focus on it, the worse its going to get. He'll get self conscious and you won't get it as much as you are now. Make sure he is really turned on when you get going. Change up the routine, you initiate and you lead the way on what and how things progress...If he's BI, is he getting action from somebody else that keeps his drive in check??? Just something to think about...

it sounds like this is some kind of mental hangup on his part or he wouldn't be able to get hard at all. He probably does not want sex because of his inability to perform. Try to relax with each other and be patient - good luck.

Its normal happens to EVERY MAN regardless if they want to admit it. Could be from stress. maybe he's tired. No suggestions here other then give it time and dont make him feel any worse then he is already feeling when he can not perform.
