because when sponge combines with(cleanser+water) solution, it starts to stink .
now ever noticed if u leave a bucket full of detegent for a day(YUCK SMELL)
so jus imagen - sponge collecting dirt with yucky smelling water!!
eww!! gross!! SALTY SMELL!

Because sponges hold bacteria. Try soaking your sponges in bleach for an hour. Sponges should be replaced also every other week.
