When I was working in Nigeria, I watched my driver beaten to death, then had a kalishnikov shoved in my face, and was told to leave my briefcase and F.off. Walking away waiting to be shot in the back was pretty stressfull, actually the whole incident was pretty stressfull. I left the country the next day and would NEVER go back.

Spending the last 3 years in an extremeley competitive medical program, where people would backstab each other permanently . They would steal each other's notebooks and throw them away for fear of someone else getting the best grades. I was on the verge of depression because I wasn't being treated like a human being anymore, but was being called names just for excelling at something I liked doing and was good at. Fortunately, I met my current boyfriend during that time, and through the love and strength he has given me, I am now able to deal better.

My divorce from my controling husband of 25 years. I was terrified and had the locks changed the minute I came home from the attorney's office. He was so controling that ten years after the divorce he thought he had the right to tell me what I could and couldn't have when I moved out of what had been our home. To this day he still tries to control me. I still fear him even though I am remarried to a really nice man.

It kind of pales into insignificance after reading some of those entries, but moving house, getting married and going abroad for work during the same week was quite stressful.
As was losing the chance to pursue my dreams of being in a band during the same week that my dad got cancer.

Finding out I had the leading cause of sudden death in young adults & had to have a defibrillator implanted. Life goes on ....... thankfully. Out of adversity can come such riches! The light at the end of the tunnel isn't necessarily the oncoming train .......

My husband was having an affair with his ex-girlfriend, in my home while I was at work. He filed for divorce thinking he wanted to be with her. I had to move and take my two children with me. We ended up working it out and when he broke it off with her, she started harassing me, telling me details of the affair, the mattress pattern on my bed, how she like my decor taste and how her child slept in my child's bed when we were not home. Top it off she then claimed to be pregnant. It was a nightmare for someone like me who loved my husband more than life itself. I pray to never have to deal with a situation like that again.
