bright red blood usually indicates internal hemmorhoids. Suggest increasing fiber and water intake to soften your stool so it isn't requiring so much pushing to get it out.

Do not panic first of all it may be something very simple.
Simple reasons:1: Constipation you may be a bit constipated and this can cause blood in the stools. If this is it you need to change diet and have more fibre in it.
2:Hemorrhoids these are like little tiny grapes inside your bottom and when you poo you strain and make them bleed. If this you need to see doctor to be given a proper examination and treatment cream
3: you have had a bout of diarriah this can cause it too as you have strained muscles down there. Not to worry it will heal itself.
4: A one off due to something you have eaten/constipated stool passed and may not occur again. Not to worry more common than you think not everyone looks at their poo or tissue when they wipe.
Serious: symptoms for anything serious would be loosing lots of blood in your poo and around it is your poo black? If not on iron tablets or do you pass blood every single time you do a poo? Severe pain in your bottom that will not go away or is there every time you pp. Swollen tummy some constipation.
Now what ever has caused this if it is any of the above you must go to the doctors immediatly. Please do not ignore if it is always hapening now you have been given lots of advise I hope sensible as this is not a joke please if you are passing blood go to your doctor.

It could be pre-chrons, or a number of things, Go to the doctor for an exam. They will put a little tube with a camera into the rectum to check for hemmoroids or bleeding and prescribe anything from a diet to over the counter medications... Seriously go to the doctor. If you are worried about the tests or something like that, don't. It won't hurt, you'll just have some gas afterward.

Whenever you defecate blood comes out because of hemmorroids. Avoid eating food that is spicy. avoid chilis and if you can, minimize eating pork, eat vegetables instead, beacause you need fiber rich foods. Avoid alcoholic drinks. Eat lots of oatmeal, gelatine, and fruits. Drink lots of water. Go to the doctor there is a suppository for that i forgot the name. If you dont take this seriously you can see something growing in your anus.

Could be internal hemorrhoids, a fissure, or something serious. Is it painful when you have a BM? Does the blood actually come out ( bright red dropping in toilet) or do you just see it when you wipe? Anyway, you need to see a GI dr for a check up. Nothing makes you feel better that a healthy peace of mind.

This means you've got what in English is commonly called piles - you are hemorrhaging from your anus. You need to add more fresh fruit and vegetables plus bran fibre to your diet. You can get an over the counter cream to help and also a mild laxative to east the passage of stools.

It can be something as simple as a hemorrhoid to something as serious as ulcers or perforated intestines. If it is bright red, it is most likely a hemorrhoid. You can help them by eating high fiber food and drinking lots of water.

If it is darker or a lot of blood, you may want to go see a gastroenterologist to find out what's wrong.

More then likely means a hemorrhoid. Some people have them and don't even know it. Give it about 3 days and if it doesn't stop, then see a doctor, but I am certain you just have a hemorrhoid... welcome to adulthood, seems we start falling apart after 18! Good luck.

All very good answers, but try a stool softener for a week. You just may be having extremely "firm" poo that is causing tiny tears in your rectum, like a cut (or what happens to women's hoo-has when we give birth).

If the stool softener doesn't work, go to the doctor.
