If he's worried about your weight, he's not worth worrying about anyway. That doesn't/shouldn't have anything to do with getting someone's attention.
In an ideal world, that would be the answer, and its still what I think, but if you want to get his attention, start participating in things that would interest him. If he's on the cross country team, you might want to go to a meet or two, or maybe start jogging. If he plays the guitar, pay attention to what bands he likes, learn more about them, and strike up a conversation. I mean, it's an easy way to at least have something to talk about.
Forcing yourself into any situation can be a bad thing, so just start casual.

don't sell yourself short , over weight is an external issue that society place emphasis on to make people feel inferior. I once heard this saying on an episode of Starting Over "you are the one in whom God is well pleased" be confident no matter what your are not offering your weight to people you are offering joy and your intelligence; we can't all be the same size so we must not let that determine our worth. I'm sure you are unique in your own way, talk to this guy try to feel him out if he is superficial you don't want to date him, you want someone who like you for you.
good luck.

Honey, weight shouldn't make any difference !
Of course, you have a chance. Go right up to this lucky
dude, and tell him exactly how you feel about him.
Then show everybody what "Baby Girl" is all about !

Hey, I think that anyone has a chance. I don't know what your personality is like...but I think that if you try it couldn't hurt. Ask him out to lunch...or to the movies.

Me bein a bigirl myself have great advice for you. When i like a guy and i want his attention im always sweet to him and seductive at the same time. It makes him wonder what im up to but at the same time he knows that im feeling him. so go ahead get seductive and get your man. (it always works for me)

no, because fat people fail.
seriously, how should we know if you have a chance? we don't know his taste in women. why don't you just ask him out and find out for yourself? he'll either say 'ok!' and then you can be happy, or he'll say 'no way!' at then you'll know that you should move on yet still be happy that you tried.

weight don't matter to a 'good' boy.. ha-ha, i will re-word that. weight don't matter to a 'MAN'.
its all about how you carry yourself, if you have confidence with yourself, you can pull it off, if the weight is holding you back, then you may want to rethink this through.
