The irrigation system was installed a while back and we could not get a drawing of where the sprinklers are. The system is already winterized so we cannot start it till spring.

The heads are covered by grass and i do not know where to look. I am looking for the company that installed it but they have yet to respond to my voice mail.

I would just turn on the water and look for wet spots. If you can't see anything, walk around the yard barefoot. The water has to come up somewhere.

Turn the water on. You should see some signs of wetness. The grass should be greener around the heads. You may be able to rent an ultra sonic pipe locator. It comes with instructions.

Your best bet is to find out who installed the system if possible. Are the heads so far under ground that you can't see them?

A metal detector works really well if you can find one to use and you know approximately where they are.
