Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch, be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow.

Will wear one with the greatest pride as all my Grandparents and Aunts and Uncle in one way or another ie Land Army, RAF, Commandos, or Pioneers contributed to defeating the Nazi's.

Sionk: this is for you, don't forget that Poppies are used to show what a waste of life war is, and to remember the fallen whom fought for what they believed in on both sides, they also help towards the widows and pensions fund of the people who served even up to today. So support them, Poppies aren't jingoistic they are respectful.

There is a Community Guidelines link at the bottom of this page. It says Yahoo Answers shouldn't be used to chat. I guess that is open to interpretation. To me, if you asked what people would be wearing on Nov 11th that sounds like chat. And the way you respond to each of the people here gives the impression to *me* you are chatting :-)

There are far stupider questions on Yahoo than the one you asked, so I won't be reporting you. But no doubt others would, who want to see genuine questions asked.

BTW I won't be wearing a poppy, never have, never will. I respect the men who died fighting for what they believed, but I think the poppy tradition glorifies war. Just my opinion.

People do that to other people for the stupidest reasons... unless someone is harrassing you or threatoning to kill you there's no reason to. People should grow up and get a life, honestly!!!

very! and yet there are people who post more vile and disgusting comments and questions, even, those which are racist and homophobic, which ought to be deleted though sadly, they are still there.
