What do you think is the percentage of Americans who believed Iraq had something to do with 9-11?

Before the war, when they were tr ying to justify it by any means how many do you think actually believed that?

Iraq had nothing to do with the Sept 11 attacks. even George Bush admitted at his press conference when a reporter asked him if Iraq had anything to do with the attacks, Bush said" Nothing, Iraq had nothing to do with the Sept. 11 attacks."

Actually, no one ever said that Iraq attacked the US. That's a urban legend created by the media. However, I'm sure a lot of people in the US believe Iraq had something to do with 9/11, because their were terrorist training camps there. Additionally, Al Queda did go to Iraq, as proven by the numerous letters confiscated from its leadership to the insurgents. However, that was never the reason given for going to war. You need only look up the Congressional Approval for the Use of Force in Iraq. Life is very complicated.

My dear, the war in Iraq had and has nothing to do with 9-11. Anyone who has been following the war knows that. It never had anything to do with 9-11. Yes, he did harbor terrorists, but that is not why we went in. He was using chemical weapons against his enemies in the region and had no regard for human life. By all the reports I've read and the interviews I've listened to he was developing nuclear weapons that he intended to use. The only problem is that we waited too long before going in. He was able to smuggle the evidence and equipment out of the country before we arrived. The country where he smuggled them to has even admitted such. My guess is that you are only reading what's in some newspapers and not finding all you can before making statements as above. Either that or your like me, sometimes posing questions that you know are false just to get a reaction.

Whatever percentage there are could well have been convinced by the Democrats' continued (untrue) assertions that Bush said Iraq had anything to do with 9/11.

At the time of the war the figure was 65-70%. The latest figure I've heard is about 30-35%. I don't think it's a coincidence that those figures are about the same as the number of people who support the war, then and now.

I believe the percentage was low.
People wanted to show patriotism by agreeing with the administration.
Like mindless sheep.
I believed that Sadaam was a bad guy, but how many Americans remember that we had inspectors in Iraq.
Sadaam said, "you can inspect any place, just stay out of my palaces".
The administration told them, okay we will hurt you.
Sadaam said, "okay go ahead you can inspect the palaces for wmd's".
so we bombed them anyway.
I am an American, so I am going to support the president as long as he is in office, but I will be glad when he is out.

Iraq was a decoy. I am a diehard Republic, but I believe the President knew there was no way to get Osama, so he opted to turn America's attention toward Saddam, who he knew he could get rid of easily. Well, Saddam is gone, but the war lingers on. Meanwhile, Osama continues to breathe. :~(

The White House never connected Saddam to 9/11. It did connect Saddam to global terror, which caused 9/11. Saddam did in fact have many connections to terror, usually financial.
