About a week ago, I blew a breaker that goes to my bathroom as well as my bedroom. Before I tripped the breaker back on, I unplugged my tower to prevent a surge. Well, when I plugged my tower back it my power button the front just blinks. There is also a little green light on the back near the power cord that blinks along with my power button. Now, I am pretty computer savvy, but this has me stumped. It will not turn back on. Any one have any ideas? Thanks so much for your help!

I was in the bathroom, which is right off of my bedroom drying my hair. There was also a space heater plugged into the same plug with my hair dryer. I just overloaded that breaker, evidentally.

Do you know what blew the breaker?
Best guess without being able to test it, you probably lost your power supply. When a power supply goes out it is possible to have power to some components and not to others.

The cord on the back is just an ethernet cord used for internet. It is plugged in to a NIC that flashes. Do not worry about this light. If the light on the from of your computer is flashing then check the monitor. Make sure that it is plugged in tight and all cables secure. Check all the settings on it, and then I would unplug everything from the back of the hard drive. Then turn on the power, and start plugging everything back in. See, the thing is that if you have not even so much as light on your monitor....I don't think it's your hard drive. You would atleast have a blue screen you know what I mean?

If you are using a surge protector, turn the power off, that goes to your desktop, modem, and the router, if you are using a router. Keep it off for at least one minute, then turn the power back on. This will refresh your system. If you do use a router, press the reset button on the back of the router, with a pen, for 30 seconds, then release it. I have that problem, about every 3 months, where I have to do that. I hope it works for you. Good Luck..

Did you look really closely for a reset button? Afraid there is the possibility when the breaker tripped out it could have damaged computer.

Is the puter on a surge protector? You may need to reset if it is. There may be a reset button on the back of the tower also.

Based on my limited knowledge, it might be the power box tas within the cpu tat might have blew... so u still see tats there is power but insufficent to power up the entire cpu...
or can it be the electro static? sometimes tat do stop the cpu frm bootin up....
