They would be crazy to do so unless they can get some front line pitching for him. He had a mediocre for him, but it wasn't that bad. Next year he will heat up again, and then watch out!!

He had the worst year of his career this season, but still managed a .290/.392/.523 line with 35 homers and 121 RBI. He's also only one year removed from being the league MVP, the second time he won that award. And he's a guaranteed first-ballot HOFer who will go down as possibly the best player of his generation.
So unless a team was willing to give up someone of that caliber - in other words, a once in a generation talent - why would they trade him? Better to let him sort his problems out and come back strong next year than to give away someone that good.
I know he did poorly in the "clutch" this season (I hate that term), but his career numbers are all better with runners on than with the bases empty. He'll be back strong, and I think New York fans will be happy the Yankees kept him around.

Never say Never.
If the Yankees get some young pitching, starting and middle relief, A-rod will be history. You can bet he wants out after being booed in a majority of the games he played in.
The Yanks are Derek's team.

I think that it still too ealry to know if they wont trade him. He had a really tough year and im sure the pressure wasn't helping. But this is sports and fans are consumers... you "pay" for a product and expect it to produce. I hope He gets traded to the Angels. Which he will if Stoneman will agree to give up Santana and a few triple a players not to mention a nice fat check. If I were A- Rod would ask for a trade bacause who wants to play for a team that doesnt want you there?

Might be because they are not willing to pay most of his salary.
Face it, if he does get traded the other team is going to want The Yankees to pay most of that huge salary.
But the way, that salary was bargained when he was a Ranger, not a Yankee.
