Take his advise and take things slow. He may have issues you aren't aware of, get to know him as well as you can before you go out with him.

He's way too old for you. At twice your age, he was already dating and working when you were just being plopped out of mommy.
What exactly does his car have to do with anything? Sounds like you may want to use him because he may be financially secure. Don't waste his time or yours. You want to be financially and socially independent on your own before you even consider going after a relationship with someone who is already there.
He's probably interested in a long term relationship and settling down, that's why he wants to know you better. Are you sure you're ready to be settling down so early in life? And what about him when you meet the next cute guy your own age, that you have a lot more in common with? It's not fair to him because in a couple of years he will be an older man.
You should go out and live life first.

If he's not a supervisor, only a co-worker, go for it. BUT wait until you turn 18 just to be on the legal side.
Because of the age difference, you'll may realize that you don't have a lot in common and are better off as just friends or maybe only friendly co-workers.
Or you may find out that he has a lot to offer you and pursue a lasting relationship.
But whatever you do...don't go out with him just because he has a nice car...that only means that he can drive and probably has a large car payment!

This situation needs some careful consideration, you really need to check into his intentions and what he has done so far in his life, my dad told me usually the nice car is all they have and I should look for the guy working his 2nd job and the gas station at night the one who doesnt have time to be out for security. Listen a guy his age ofcourse would love to get you in the sack, I hope thats not the case theres really a big age dif there and your experiences are far apart it could work but more than likely not for the right reasons, Good Luck!

If you want somebody to take care of you and not have an "equal" relationship, then go for it. If you want more, than you need to look at this situation realistically. No matter how smart and/or mature you are, you have not had near the number of life experiences that he has. Of course you did say he has a "nice car" so obviously you don't care than much about having a "real" relationship.

Well I think 36 is a little to old for you but... If you really like someone and want to get to know them better theres no harm in being friends first and later if you still have the same feelings for him then go for it... But also note he is 18yrs older then you and might really want a seriouse relationship because he is probably ready to settle down...Good Luck =D

He has a nice car?? which is a plus?? Wow...you sure have some high expectations. I think he's too old for you...you obviously need to find someone closer to your own age. I agree w/your friends. It's not a good idea - #1 - you work w/him and your maturity level couldn't handle it if you broke up #2 - age difference and again maturity level.
Find someone closer to your own age.

i think you should do what ever you want. the age difference doesn't matter that much anymore. and if you really are into this friend of yours then don't listen to your other friends.i wouldn't go anything serious however until you are 18 and then you will be an adult and can do your own thing

Don't do it...never mix money with honey. It tends to get you into a sticky situation. Good luck and find someone your own age. He's a bit old for you.
