Listen to educational shows and foreign language and classical music to say keep yourself calm. The baby can hear the world outside and is affected by what influence you have in carring the child into the world. Little sound phonics games and children's shows and music. I know it will be a bit of going back but it is like being exposed yourself to this will give the baby more of a interest when he or she comes into the world. It is said 1800 women hid themselves away and only the family could see them in the pregnant state... NO
You are not ashamed to be seen pregnant but it is thought to be calm and exposed to nice people and calm surroundings to help baby

Relax, Meditate, Most importantly have time for yourself sit and read to your baby when you get tired of reading lay back on your back then put the open book on your stomach while relaxing leave the book there you will feel the baby's hand rubbing your stomach babies even when inside you are really smart that's when they learn more talk to your baby don't stress not good for the baby just talk to him/her like if he/her was already in your arms!!!

Enjoy! Best of Luck!

These people are ignorant honey. You can do the following:

- Play Mozart music (just put headphones on your belly or play it in a stero a bit louder than usual)
- Flash a light on your belly : studies have shown that babies follow the light with their eyes (after 26 weeks when the eyelids open again) and they react by kicking.
- Sing to your unborn, talk to him/her, tell him/her how you and your partner love him, etc.

These are stimulations proven to work. I'm currently doing that with my unborn and everyother day I play her some Mozart.
Good luck

1. While you are pregnant, take care of your own health. No smoking, no alcohol, no drugs, no junk food. Good nutritious meals. See your doctor and ask her about prenatal vitamins including folic acid.

2. Plan ahead. Make plans to intellectually stimulate your child after she is born. Be ready to talk to her a lot, read to her, provide her with attention-getting toys that move and make non-scary noises.

3. After she is born, don't ever let her watch any TV, at least until age 45 or so. TV turns brains to mush.

4. Feed her properly. Breastfeed her, which means that you need to continue to take care of your own health. Still no smoking, alcohol or drugs.

5. Did I mention no TV? Television is the worst thing you can do to a child's brain.

6. Make books a part of her life. Read to her from books with lots of pictures. Make books a daily part of her life from the very first days of her life.

7. Did I mention no TV? Surely you don't want her to grow up brain-dead, watching Bill O'Reilly and Faux News, and voting Republican?

When I was pregnant I read about these CD's that you let your baby listen to. You put headphones on your belly and it plays music and different sounds and what not. It's supposed to stimulate baby's brain and make them more itelligent. Look in Baby and parenting magazines, that's where i saw it.

don't consume alcohol or drugs, don't smoke or do anything else that could hurt the growing brain

apart from that, nothing. How intelligent your baby will be, will be based on his/her genes, which are already there.

then of course, once the baby is born, and once it is old enough, spending time with him/her teaching colours, names of things, later letters, numbers, will help his LEARNING. But it won't help the INTELLIGENCE, which is a born characteristic.

Omega 3 Fish Oils- specifically DHA (although EHA is also good) really help with brain development. You should be taking a prenatal vitamin with Folic Acid, I would recommend also taking DHA and continuing to take it while breastfeeding.
