I have found God and been studying w/ Shepards Chapel and I love it. But I am gay so I am having a dilema.?

I follow along and understand what they are teaching, for the first time. I feel like God created me this way but they teach differently. So I am torn.

The Bible teaches us several things:

1. Everyone sins
2. All sinners need Jesus for forgiveness and reconcilliation for their sins.
3. We are born in sin.

I think when you say you feel God made you this way, it really is the way you were born--in sin.

I can't in good conscience tell you to go on sinning, but I can tell you that I have yet to meet a believer who is sinless. Follow any professing believer around, and you will eventually see them sin.

So they don't have gay marriage in church for the same reasons they don't have wild parties, open sex, long-winded swearing sessions, etc. Yes, we are sinful, but we try not to and we don't want to bring it into the church.

My best advice: consider God's plan for making new people. It does not involve girl-girl sex or girl-girl marriage. Perhaps you could be single, or marry.

2Cor 5:17 talks about how a person can become a changed being. Very powerful. Think of how Jesus can bring such change to your life.

my view is that the teachings are just someones opinion. God did make you and loves who you are. Being gay is not a choice and if anyone tells you that you should hide it it's time to find a new place to be. Love who you are because God already does!

Ok, first remember that it's GOD you've found and that these people that you're studying with probably refer to themselves as Christians, perhaps even Born-again Christians? And of course I'll preface this with the fact that I, for one, do NOT believe at all in any organized religion as I tend to believe them to be forms of 'cults', if you will. Because every single religion these days teaches everybody whatever it is THEY think is more important and they also have their own agenda's! Even within the same faith, church's, and more. Also, the bible is only this....regardless of what these people will tell you, even try to CONVINCE you of, if they've not already done so, ok? It is a book that has not only been mis-translated so many times over the years as well as written to help one guy who was a King, specifically King James, to help him rule his kingdom! That's all that version was intended for. But aside from that it is a book that people have written as their views and observations of events that happened during a specific period of time. Disciples some, but also if you know anything at all really about religion then you'll know that MEN, go figure, decided to leave many of the wrtings (BOOKS) of LOTS of disciples....Mary Magdelan is a HUGE one, but others such as Philip actually gets BRIEF mention in the bible but he, too, was a disciple of Jesus and he, too, kept a written 'diary' or book of his observations from the same period of time as Matthew, Mark, Luke & John! So here's the deal about every single 'modern' religion (I'm not counting buddhism and such as they're even older then, well, I am, for one thing!!) but every single religion today except for ONE did NOT even exisit when Jesus was alive. And Jesus was of what religion? And if these people haven't taught you at least this much after studying with them then you need to get the hell out of there NOW, and I'd advise that you don't walk, but RUN!! Because Jesus was Jewish and the only religion that even existed back then was Judaism!!! It wasn't until many years later when the disciple Philip decided he'd sort-of like to be the head of his own religion that the very first form of Christianity began!! Even Catholicism didn't exist back then! So if nothing else, remember that Christianity as people know it today wasn't even around when Jesus was alive and not for a long time after he died, either!!

So PLEASE know this...I myself believe in God, very VERY much so, don't mistake what I've typed about organized religion today as NOT believing at all! But as I stated at the beginning, religion's, church's today are 'cult's, in the sense that whichever one anybody happens to attend preaches what THEY believe to be the most important thing to THEM! And if you haven't noticed in today's world of hypocrisy, it's the same as what you're told after you have children, which actually is oh so true, too...!!! Do as I say, not as I do. The church is Kansas (that I find to be absolutely despicable!!) basically preaches only one thing in "God's name" no less! And living here in Colorado, Laramie, WY isn't far at all and not sure if you know or remember the young gay man Matthew Shepard was his name if I remember correctly, who was beaten then hung on a fence to die because he was gay? Then these idiots from that church in KS came not only to his funeral, terrible 'people?' they are, but also attended the trials of the 2 young men accused and eventually convicted of this horrible crime!! Why were they there? To CHEER the killing of this young man and the two young men who were convicted!! Why? Because those "Born-again Christians" listen to & believe everything that's been 'preached' to/at them all these years because that's what this one church has chosen to be the most important part of what they've chosen to pick and chose from a tiny sentence in the bible!!

So please do believe in God! But also remember that the only religion that ever existed when Jesus was alive and for many many years after was Judaism, because Jesus was a Jew. And that every 'modern' day religion in existance today sprang from Judaism and that the bible is only a book of of historical events for many different perspectives of that time! This book as not only been so mis-translated so many times over the years, (and it's also been done so by men, just so you know.....!!) it's also been re-written to help a King rule, as well as re-written for the many various religions today to "accomodate" whatever the religion happens to be, as well as leaving out MANY of the other 'books' or diaries from other disciples, followers and more!!!

And sorry this is so long, just trying to really emphasize the actual truth about things, and I'm not very good at just stating something for some reason and seems like I beat around the bush forever or tend to ramble about things as well! But I do hope that you at least read and understand the main and most important points of what I've typed here for you. And trust me when I tell you that there are far too many people who become so angry with what I am typing to you and say to some, because they just don't wish to believe anything aside from what they've been 'taught' or learned in their church!! That's because they very firmly and devoutly believe what THEY learned from whatever religion and church and preachers they had throughout the years, even when it's so radically different than the way anyone else even within that very same religion has been taught! And when the first Catholic's begain their church and the pope's at the beginning of the church wanted what they wanted, and naturally that's POWER, they not only decided to write their own 'religion' but their own version of the 'bible' and they also massacred millions trying to eradicate beliefs other than those important to them and their beliefs, but also made a point of putting MEN in charge of EVERYTHING, in case you've not noticed....???!!!! Geez, for hundreds of years in the Catholic Church priest's were not only allowed to be married, but encouraged to be as well!!! Then along comes ???? who re-writes that doctrine, and so on and so on.....if you understand even a tiny bit of what I've tried to tell you here, then THAT'S the real miracle!!! :)

I believe very much in God, believe that I have been the beneficiary of a miracle, for me, at least it not only was at that time, but continues to be to this day!! Nothing anyone else can see or know but ME, but I'm so thankful for everyday, and I also believe in Jesus, but like you I question now many things that I was taught all my life in church, mostly because all religions as I say, grew from only one and Jesus was Jewish and that's the only religion that existed for many many years and the Jewish religion doesn't believe that Jesus is the son of God but a Prophet.....


Please forgive the long reply I've typed to you, and of course believe in whatever religion that you've chosen, as well as believe what you've been 'taught' and become angry if you wish at what I've stated here to you! But if nothing else, with your open mind, please do read the facts about 'christianity', the disciple Philip, etc., etc.!!!

And don't believe everything you're told, in life, in religion, in church, whatever! And always ask questions about everything, including the one you've asked here!!!!

There are many things that so-called 'christians' don't practice today that happen to be mentioned in the bible, so take what you're told with a grain of salt....from everyone!!! And the facts are exactly that, the facts...not the facts others are trying to teach you, but the ones that really exist is you research them yourself through means other than any religion or church.

Good Luck and God didn't teach humans the hatred that's not just preached but practiced as well!!!
