What can I take for morning sickness? I am 5w 5d and I have tried crackers and such but none of that seems to help. I cant get anything from the doctors because I am in the process of moving and changing my doctors. Any tips would greatly be appricated.

I am 11.5 wks and been in the hospital for dehydration 3 times now. My doctor has prescribed me different medications until I found one that helps some. Talk to your OB he may be able to give you something that helps. I am still sick every single day and haven't been to work in two weeks because although the meds help with some of the nausau and vomiting. I still am miserable all the time. The soda crackers gag you after a while so I can't eat those. Cold liquids are supposed to help and do sometimes. Hot liquids help me sometimes also. Really all in all you just have to wait it out. I am just praying that mine doesn't last until the end of my pregnancy at this point. I have two other children and did not have sickness like this with either. I eat chicken broth a lot or should I say drink. Someone told me to eat mashed potatoes which I have not tried yet. I absolutely do not take any prenatal vitamins and my doctor has advised since I am so sick that I do not take them until I get past this.

Hope this helps a little!!

OMG i feel so sorry for you. I had morning sickness so bad that I was projectile vomiting all day, and spent all night with my head stuck in a toilet, and the doctors had to put me on Zofran, which is a nausea drug used for people who get chemo. It worked wonders but is VERY expensive. I agree that crackers do not help much. I'll give you what I did that helped me out:

Soups - like chicken noodle soup, noodle soup in general, or maybe chicken broth.

Anything that is bland, all the flavoring could upset your stomach.

And my biggest rule of thumb that I preach to everybody about:
If the smell of something make you feel ill at your stomach: GET AWAY FROM IT / DON'T EAT IT.

Trust me, if you smell it and it makes you sick, if you continue to smell it you will get sick. If you smell it, and it makes you sick, don't eat it because it WILL make you sick.

Try eating mini meals during the day. Good luck and I hope the morning sickness goes away quickly for you.

Tums are ok take while pregnant, I had morning sickness the first 8 weeks, I took one Tum and a little water, BEFORE I got out of bed in the morning. For some reason getting up made it worse, but if I laid in bed for about ten minutes after, I was ok...also NO COFFEE! This made me totally want to hurl. Just as well, I heard the caffene isnt good for the baby

Gingerale and gingersnaps. I dont like either but it definately works. Also those prego pops work. You get them in maturnity stores or online. I had hypermesis and these definately worked. If you dont know what hypermesis is than just to let you know it is morning sickness all day everyday throughout the pregnancy. It can be dangerous. I'm sure yours will disappear after the first trimester. I am a rare case. I hope it dont happen to you. I wish you alot of luck.

I tried everything too and nothing helped me. I pretty much ate crackers and water for the first 3 months of my pregnancy and didn't gain a pound! But how could I when everything I ate came right back up.

I just waited it out and it passed when I was 14 weeks.

DO NOT TAKE ANY MEDICATION!!! In Bold to emphasise the point. Eat little meals, but often. I know how you feel, Iwas not only nauseous, but vommited the whole pregnancy through - both times and did not take any medication for it as my child x2 were more important to me than the nausea and vommiting. Try to find out what makes you more nauseous and stay away from those foodstuffs and or smells or views. This may help.

I use to drink a cup of warm rasberry tea in the morning and that seemed to help. Also try taking your prenatal pills at night instead of during the day that could be whats making you sick. Just a suggestion.

Congradulations..... Take care and good luck !!!

If your sickness lasts all day like mine does, I read that b vitamins help. In the morning I drink ZipFizz. It has a small amount of caffeine in it but it has a ton of b and c vitamins. It always makes me feel better and have more energy. (I am 5 wks 3 days)

try ginger hard candy, it helped me some, but I had all day sickness since I was 3 weeks to the day I was in labor so good luck, also your doctor can prescribe Dramamine in pills or suppositories, but remember never take any prescriptions with out your doctors approval, also the crackers, them before you even get out of bed, it might help.

Look for Preggo pops, I hear they work great. They are little candies. I had all day sickness for 6 months and nothing worked for me. The best way to get through it is rest as much as possible, your body is going through a huge change and is learning to cope.
