The cricket season is quite busy, so the more senior players sometimes rest from some of the games, once you get past the group stage, they involve more of the senior players, as it's a good competition to win.
Twenty20 is a good concept that is good as a spectator sport and also keeps Sky interested in cricket as its a good ratings winner, as opposed to 4 dayers which can be slow, and extremely boring.
The appeal of Twenty20 is how quickly the game can change, and that it just concentrates on the more appealing aspects of the sport, ie. wickets and boundaries. All in all it's mainly a media thing but it's good to generate interest back into the game, that was sloping downwards, before the Ashes 05, and now again

Being an ICC Member, we have to go with ICC. Since majority of the Members of ICC have agreed for 20-20 tournaments, India cannot remain in isolation and refuse to play the game.
