I'd rather be surprised. I never try to find out earlier because I'm gonna find out eventually anyway.
Besides, anticipation is a source of joy. You know it is said that people don't necesarily enjoy having their wishes fulfilled, but they enjoy the travel to fulfillment. You know that feeling you have before going on a trip? You keep preparing and anticipating and thinking about how its going to be, and when the trip is over, you realize that thinking about it was more pleasant than going on it.
I feel the same 'bout gifts. ;)

I never had the desire to peak. That would ruin all the fun for me. And who wants to have to fake a look of surprise?

I don't peak, but there are no surprises either. I am hard to buy for, so I tell my family exactly what I want and that is what I get. lol

when i was younger I would find the presents wrapped in the closet and use a utility knife to carefully slice the tape and unwrap them enough that i could tell what they were then carefully redo the wrapping- it did ruin the surpise on Christmas but then again i was surprised the day i did the peeking!

I sneak a peek, although it takes away from the anticipation, but just know what you have and actually getting to hold it is differ. Just think of a women when she is pregnant knowing the sex of the baby is awsome but actually getting to feel and hold the baby is greater

When I was younger I use to try, my mother put them in places that was hard for me to get to back then.
Now, I just enjoy any little surprise, only because sometimes my parents buy things for me in front of me and say, "this is for your birthday." Kind of takes the fun out of it! :P

i do not have to peek. I always seem to know. I have s strange thing about me kind of like radar. when family needs help i have a free day, if i am working with my dad i always have the tool he needs before he needs it ready for him. if one of my friends needs something, I convieniently have some extras. (why else would i have a spare computer laying around when my best friend needed one.) I don't need to peek, i just know.
