Don't you just pity those poor people? After all, it must be hard living on that kind of money. It's just not the style to which I've become accustomed. LOL!

The current minimum salary is already $327,000, and it will jump in each of the next three seasons ($380K, $390K, $400K).

If you look at it in a vaccuum, the players seem overpaid, but not when you look at the unique skills they have and the interest the general public has in watching them. There are very few people who can do what they do, and I'd rather see them get the money than have it always lining the pockets of the owners.

But it does make the rest of us feel a little lame, I'll admit - I get so excited about getting a six-figure job, then see these guys get paid three times that to do something I'd kill to be doing. Oh, well, more power to them - get it while the gettin's good.

They've looked at salaries for baseball players, and the average baseball player makes about the same amount of money in his lifetime as most people. This is because most players have careers under 10 years. They do make very good money, but after they are out of baseball, they don't have many skills so they don't start new careers. But I don't miss any sleep worrying about them.

It's a tough road for those poor guys to hoe. I mean after all, their careers only lasts some 20 years in which time they would earn 3 million dollars IF they stayed a the minimum. But who among them does? They pay over one million dollars a year to some who are worthless like Wakefield, Seanez, and Tavarez to name a few Red Sox players.

Chow!!

It's the fans fault. If we didn't idolize these players, there would be no market for Baseball or Football or Hockey, etc. We are not too far away from all sports on TV being pay per View. Its a shame our teachers are amongst the lowest paid professions.
