Gloria Vanderbuilt jeans, no hairbows, and a scarf tied into the hair. Women were only getting into the jean scene on a grand scale because GV made pants to fit WOMEN. Vests were big and belts.

You can go overboard and dress tlike Madonna :bustier, lots of necklaces (one has to be a cross), a tulle skirt, fishnet stockings, gloves (preferably lace), heavy eyeliner, big hoop earrings, pumps, tall, teased hair, use a scarf or stockings to make a hair band, wear a few chain belts. If you don't want to be so over the top: wear stirrup pants, pumps, a shirt with big shoulder pads, earrings that match your shirt (yellow, red, green, etc.), big hair, blue eyeshadow, heavy eyeliner), put a clip in you hair with a bow on it, like black with white polka dots, a wide belt, and lots of bracelets (in bright colors). You can skip the stirup pants and go for a mini skirt with leg warmers or fishnet stockings. Oh, and carry a small pocketbook - something with a string strap.

Look in the trendy stores, a lot of stuff is recycled 80's.
Leggings under a miniskirt or a long shirt/dress.
Bright colors.
Big hair.
Big Geometric jewelry.
Belts over shirt/dress.

Ah...back in the day....
Leggings and ankle boots...which are easy since they are currently back in style.
A long tunic and a belt. Preferable in a neon color.
Leg warmers.
Inside out sweatshirts...like Flashdance.
Big hair.
Banana Clips, Scrunchies, and big clip on bows for your hair.
Low slung belts.
Safety pin bracelets and earrings.

acid washed jeans, if you wear a skirt make sure to wear leg warmers. Your hair should be crimped and maybe just put a big hairbow hairband.

a mini skirt, capri leggings, leg warmers, old school reeboks or a pair of kangroos. funny sunglasses, hot pink stricks in your hair, that should be teased untill it hits the roof. and a shirt that you cut the collar out of so that it hangs off of your shoulder.
