Whatever brand name you see on the package is not the manufacturer. As someone else mentioned, all of them just splap their label on disks made by two or three companies. I'm told that the best quality is made in Japan (not Taiwan). Check these links for details.

I think HP brand is the best. They are normally cheaper than alot of other brands as well. Goto Officemax to purchase your blank dvds they always have the best prices. I have had no problems at all with hp.

I've used 600 Verbatuim DVD-R with some problems with coping data from a few discs. Plus one spindle of 100 was bad to use for video. That's just my history with this brand. The price is right though. We get them from Sam's club for $35.00 for 100.

There is NO "BEST" brand, as far as I can see. (Personally, I think they are a lot like cars; same factory different names!)

I just use a brand that has a good reputation and warranty, such as memorex, HP, etc.

Any brand! They are all generally made in the same place, big companies just pay to slap on their big name and in the end you pay for that.

The Soul of the blank generation.

As the Who sang it "they're all wasted"

However, they do have loads of storage space.
